Brac Island, Croatia - Best things To do On Brac

11.07.2023.

Are you island hopping in Croatia this summer season? Looking for an island villa accommodation? Then, Brac Island is an excellent choice!

Trip to Brac Island

Brac is an unspoiled natural island paradise and the perfect location for an unforgettable holiday. It has everything - turquoise sea, olive groves, pine forests, picturesque towns, and villages that lure visitors to explore. It is easily accessible by ferry from Split to Supetar on the north coast. You can find the official schedule on Jadrolinija ferry, which operates automobile and passenger ferries from the mainland to two other destinations: Bol on the south coast and Milna on the island's western edge.

Explore the Island

Brac is small enough to explore in a day or two, despite being the third-largest island in the Adriatic Sea and the largest in Dalmatia. If you're short on time, take a one-day trip. For example, a day trip from Split is one of the most popular ones. So, join one of the guided half-day trips to see the main attractions, or explore it on your own.

Best Things to Do On Brac

Brac is an ideal location for mountain biking. The highest point, Vidova Gora, is accessible by many bicycle routes. The shortest and easiest cycling route is a 16 km loop from Sumartin. You can also try hiking, as hiking routes on Brac offer breathtaking views. Popular trails include Bol to Vidova Gora summit and Murvica to Dragon's Cave.

When you get to Brac, you should not miss the chance to swim in the Adriatic Sea's clear waters. Scuba diving, sea kayaking, kiteboarding, and windsurfing are popular, too.

We also recommend visiting these places: Milna, Postira, Bol, and Supetar.

Milna - A Waterfront Fishing Village

Milna is one of those typical Mediterranean fishing villages. It is located on the west coast of Brac Island. Milna has one of the most beautiful natural harbors on the Adriatic, with a peaceful marina that digs into the island. On each side of the harbor, you can find beaches. In the summer months, regular catamarans run from Split to Milna, then to Hvar Island, and finally to Dubrovnik. A great way to explore the Adriatic coastline.

Postira - See the Olive Groves

Postira is a picturesque fishing village on the northern coast of the island of Brac. This side of Brac is best known for its rich agricultural tradition, olive groves, and clean beaches. Postira offers an ideal combination of a peaceful family vacation and active exploration of nature.

Those seeking tranquility will love the special vibes and ambiance in this idyllic village. Postira offers a variety of beautiful beaches, making it ideal for a beach vacation in Croatia. Along the coast, several gorgeous and peaceful areas invite swimming and relaxation.

Bol and Zlatni Rat beach (Golden Horn)

The town of Bol was established long ago. Today, it is an outstanding tourist destination thanks to its 10-kilometer-long beaches. Zlatni rat (Golden Horn Beach) is impossible to miss. It is the most magnificent beach on the Adriatic Sea, with a cape that turns one way then the other. We could say that wind and waves are playing a strange game with each other on this beach. It's no wonder you can see its picture in almost every Croatia travel guide.

Bol is ideal for lovers of mini-football, volleyball, basketball, and cycling. Extreme activities like trekking and free climbing are also popular. Windsurfing also makes Bol a popular destination due to its currents. The aquatorium of Bol is a surfer's paradise, always appealing due to the excellent breezes.

One Day on Brac? Visit Supetar

Supetar is a popular summer vacation spot in Croatia. When you get there, the typical Dalmatian stone houses and the imposing parish church in the background will amaze you. The old town is fabulous, and the beaches in Supetar are gorgeous.

Besides bays with fine pebble beaches surrounded by tamarisk and pine woods, Supetar offers much more: cafes, bars, restaurants, tennis courts... Enjoy cultural monuments, various sports, and recreation programs. Many restaurants serve local Mediterranean cuisine and other Croatian specialties.
