A unique combination of traditional Croatian shipbuilding and modern yacht
Ardura (meaning: sea shimmer or sea glow)
Ardura's lines are inspired by a Croatian authentic wooden boat called trabakul dating to the 15th century when it was used as a Dalmatian-Venetian merchant vessel. Named after the boat’s sails -‘trabacca’. Slow, reliable, made of oak and larch, with rounded bows and sterns, wide, compact, and with good storage. Ranging between 50 to 200 tons a typical trabakul was 20 meters long, had two masts with lug sails and rigging, a bowsprit, and a large rudder extended below the depth of the keel. Trabakul had carved and colorfully painted stern, a breadth equal to about a third of the length, and a crew of 10 - 20 ‘trabaccolos’.
Ardura is a truly unique combination of traditional Croatian shipbuilding and modern-day yacht construction and technologies. The design of the ship was made to reflect and, to an extent, recreate, the look of the traditional Trabakul ship type.
